Our story began in 1997, when brothers Simon and Andrew Maden established Maden Design & Build with a simple ambition: to create high-quality homes and construction projects that people could be proud of. Working throughout Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, the business grew steadily through trust, craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

What started as a family business soon became a respected name within the region, built on lasting relationships, honest advice, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. From the very beginning, we believed that quality should never be compromised and that every project should leave a positive legacy for both the people who live there and the communities around them.

As the construction industry evolved, so did our vision. Recognising the growing importance of sustainability and energy efficiency, we expanded into renewable energy in 2010, helping homeowners and businesses embrace low-carbon technologies that reduce environmental impact whilst improving everyday comfort and performance.

This natural progression led to the creation of Maden Eco in 2012, bringing together decades of construction expertise with a forward-thinking approach to renewable energy and sustainable living. Rather than treating sustainability as an afterthought, we set out to make it a fundamental part of every project, designing homes where energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and modern living work in harmony.

This philosophy has shaped developments such as Ravensdowne and Cornhill Road, where thoughtful design, renewable technologies, and quality craftsmanship come together to create homes that are as efficient as they are beautiful. Each project reflects our belief that sustainable homes should not only perform well but also provide the comfort, character, and quality people expect from a place they call home.

Today, Maden Eco encompasses several specialist divisions, including construction, renewable energy, and Maden Eco Fuels. Whilst each area of the business serves a different purpose, they are united by a shared commitment to helping people live and work more sustainably through practical, reliable, and future-focused solutions.

Looking ahead, our vision remains as strong as ever. Developments such as Spittal Point represent the next chapter in our journey, bringing together everything we have learned over nearly three decades. Combining innovative construction methods, renewable technologies, and carefully considered design, we continue to create homes that are built not only for today’s lifestyles but for future generations.
